Due to the tsunami warning issued due to a massive earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, the men's soccer quarterfinals of the National High School Alliance (Inter High School), which had four games the previous day, had been cancelled, have resumed.
The first match, which began at 9:30am the previous day, was suspended at halftime after the first half, with Otsu (Kumamoto) – Shohei (Saitama) 2-0, while Ryutsu Keizai University Kashiwa (Chiba) – Iizuka (Fukuoka) 1-0, and then cancelled due to the fact that “the tsunami warning cannot be lifted.”
All matches were postponed on this day, with the second half kicking off in the first match, starting at 10am. Otsu scored three more points to extend his lead, and won a big 5-0 victory over Shohei. Ryutsu Keizai University Kashiwa also added one point to beat Iizuka 2-0, both of which went into the final four.
The second match will be held at Teikyo Nagaoka (Niigata) – Shoshi (Fukushima 1), Yamanashi Gakuin – Kamimura Gakuen (Kagoshima) from 11:30pm. The venue for the match is J Village, about 1.5 km from the coast.
The second round of the women's event, which is being held in Hokkaido, has also been cancelled, but it has resumed.
