The J.League announced on the 16th that it will introduce video assistant referees (VAR) in the semifinals of the J1 promotion playoffs. Until last season, it was only used in the finals.
The playoffs will be held in a tournament format with 3rd to 6th place players from J2 participating. The semi-finals will be held on December 7th and the final on December 13th.
