We spoke with Rakuten's infielder Komori Kodairo (22). He joined the team as a human compensation for infielder Mogi Eigoro (31), who transferred to Yakult to free agency last offseason. He currently plays in the second team, but has already played in 30 career-high games in the first team, and has recorded numerous “ones” in April, including his first professional hit, first home run, first RBI, and first steal. He aims to make the most of his talent and become a unique player who is said to be “unless Komori is there.”

Take transfer as an opportunity
-It's been my first year of transfer, but did you have any concerns?
It was my first transfer, and it was a sudden decision, so of course I was worried. I thought that even when I was at Yakult, I wouldn't have many opportunities to play, so the biggest thing is to try and make it a good opportunity.
-Do you feel like you saw it as an opportunity?
I had no choice but to think of it like that in a positive way, so I thought this was an opportunity and tried hard.
– Are your seniors kind?
