COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Aaron Scott is entering the transfer portal.
The former five-star cornerback played 180 snaps across 15 games in two seasons with the Buckeyes.
“Buckeye Nation man, it was a dream come true to get to play in the backyard of my hometown,” Scott posted on X (formerly Twitter). “I appreciate all the love and support from everyone over these last 2 years.
“While I wish circumstances had allowed things to work out differently I am blessed and grateful for everything always! Thank y’all for the love, hate and support throughout my time here.”

Scott — a product of Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio — was the nation’s No. 6 cornerback and the state’s top player in the 2024 signing class.
He sat behind corners Davison Igbinosun, Denzel Burke and Jermaine Mathews during the 2024 season. Igbinosun and Mathews returned as starters for the 2025 campaign, and with freshman Devin Sanchez emerging as an immediate contributor, Scott moved down the depth chart.
Mathews could return for the 2026 season if he turns down the NFL draft, making it likely that he and Sanchez start next season. However, Scott’s departure adds to an already-thinning cornerback room.
Ohio State lost Bryce West — one of of its top options behind starting nickelback Lorenzo Styles this season — to the transfer portal earlier this week.
