COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has earned yet another commitment in the 2026 recruiting class, as four-star athlete Legend Bey announced he had flipped his decision from Tennessee to the Buckeyes.
Bey is from North Forney High School in Texas, and is the No. 361 overall prospect and No. 24 athlete in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He had been committed to Tennessee since June 28, but took an official visit to Ohio State on Nov. 1.
This is certainly one of the more interesting commitments for Ohio State, as Bey plays quarterback for North Forney but projects as an athlete at the college level.
What does that mean, exactly? Expect the Buckeyes to try and use him in myriad ways.
He could become a Curtis Samuel-type player, someone who can take carries in the backfield and also play as a slot receiver. The word “playmaker” cannot be overstated to describe a player like Bey, who could have a similar usage as players like Deebo Samuel and Theo Riddick do and did in the NFL with the 49ers/Commanders and Lions, respectively.
Bey could also impact the game as a returner, too, which would give Ohio State an advantage on special teams.
Ohio State now has 25 commitments in its 2026 class, which is finishing strong as National Signing Day nears in early December. The Buckeyes, with five receiver commitments, have certainly added some punch to their recruiting class.
