Ajax's Japanese national team defender Itakura Ko (28) was off the bench in the away game against the Spartans. According to the club, this was due to poor condition. The match was caught up by two points in the final minutes, and the game drew 3-3.
Itakura started six consecutive official matches since his first goal since his transfer, against Forendam on August 30th, and played the full game in the European Champions League (CL) match against Marseille on September 30th, when he lost 0-4.
The Japanese national team will face Paraguay (Panasta) on the 10th and Brazil (Aji Stadium) on the 14th.
