Celtic forward Maeda Daizen (27) scored his first league goal of the season in the away game against Kilmarnock. He started off in the center forward position, and in the 11th minute of the second half, he scored a cross from the left with a diving head to take the lead.
On his way back from the Japan national team, the attacker, along with midfielder Hatade Reo (27), played until the 25th minute of the second half, with a distance of 1-0. The team tied the game in the 38th minute of the second half, but the penalty kick that was acquired in an additional time in the second half was scored by forward Iheanacho, who joined the season, winning the game 2-1. He was first in the season with 13 points, with 4 wins and 1 draws. Defender Inamura Junsho (23) and forward Yamada Arata (25) were off the bench.
In an interview with the BBC, manager Rogers said, “We were unable to create any chances in the first half, but we were able to control the game quite a bit. After the national team week, there were many new faces in the starting lineup, and the coordination wasn't as smooth as we wanted, but there were no major problems and we were able to move forward with the game. We dominated the game in the second half as well, and of course (Maeda) took the lead.”
