The Euro Cup 3, a middle formula that holds eight rounds in Europe, has announced that it will use a new chassis and engine starting in 2026. Just like the All Japan Super Formula Lights Championship (SFL) and the Euro Formula Open (EFO), the Toms TGE33 engine will be used for the Dallara 326 chassis.

The Euro Cup 3 was a series that began in 2023 by major teams at the F4 Spanish Championship, supported by the Spanish Automobile Federation. It was founded as a reasonable and competitive step-up category for the FIA single-seater series.

Until now, the series has been carried out on vehicles equipped with Alfa Romeo engines, including the Tattooth F3 T-318, which is an updated tattoo F3 T-318 for the Formula Regional European Championship, but from 2026, both the chassis and engine will be changed as “the largest organizational and technical step since the series was founded.”

The new chassis will be the Dallara 326. It is exactly the same as the Dallara 320 for the SFL and the Dallara 324 for the EFO, which is also set in Europe, but will be named 326 depending on the year of its introduction. This is combined with the Toms TGE33 engine, which is also used in SFL and EFO. It is based on a 1.6-liter 3-cylinder turbo for the Toyota GR Yaris, and was developed under Super Formula Lights and introduced in the SFL from 2024 and in EFO from 2025. Spain's Engiser 101 will provide technical support for the Euro Cup 3. The fuel will also be ETS Racing Fuel, which is also used in the Super GT.

With this change, despite the difference between Kumho for the SFL, Pirelli for the EFO, and Hankook and the tires for the EuroCup 3, the chassis and engine were being competed for the same package. The FIA reorganised the formula since the late 2010s, and vehicles with less downforce have been used for the FIA F3 and the various regional formula regions, but this change has led to an increase in middle formulas using the Dallara 32X series, which have strong downforce.

Along with this announcement, the series also announced its 2026 calendar. A total of eight rounds will be held in various European countries. Furthermore, it has been announced that nine out of 10 currently participating teams have decided to participate again in 2026. Around 30 cars are participating this season as well, making it the largest of the series that uses the Dallara 32X.

“We would like to thank the team, the Spanish Automobile Federation, and all our partners for trusting us. We would especially like to thank Dallara and Toms for creating the new car this time,” commented Marco Rodriguez, general manager of the Euro Cup 3.

The Euro Cup 3 has been changed from 2026 to use the Dallara 326 x Toms TGE33 engine. SFL and EFO are backed by the same baggage.
