In the opening round of the Dutch first division league, NEC Nymechen forward Ogawa Koki (28) started in the home game against Excelsior and scored two goals. The team launched a big win 5-0.
Ogawa got off to a great start. In the 7th minute of the second half, with the score at 1-0, he hit an overhead shot from within the penalty area, and in the 14th minute he made a cross from the left with a high RBI head. This is the first time in the opening game in two seasons since 2023-24, when he ultimately scored 11 goals in the season. This is the first time he has scored two goals in a game since the match against Groningen in November last year.
Former J1 Urawa Reds forward Brian Linsen added a goal in the 22nd minute of the second half. Ogawa could have made a hat-trick for the first time in the opening match of the Dutch first division league, but was substituted in the 32nd minute of the second half, with the score at 4-0. His fellow midfielder Sano Kodai (21) played in the full game. FW Shiogai Kento (20) was off the bench.
