The Seibu third team has been holding a “summer training camp” since August 1st, as the first attempt in the professional baseball world. The setting is Bibai City, Hokkaido. Okem outfielder (19, Asahikawa Shimine), who is in his first year in training, also returns to his hometown and is working hard to find a sweat. In late July, before the summer training camp, we asked him what he felt from joining the team.

In early spring, I made a mistake and talked to Okemu with “Ramaru-kun.” It was washed away. After exchanging two words, I realized that I had made a mistake in the name. I'm still sorry.
For both people who are good at matching faces and names, it is difficult to do both.
“To be honest, some people who come here sometimes still don't know their names, but I've made an effort to remember them, and within about three months I've learned most of the names of the team,” says Okem.
Rookies are tough. Nowadays, when the baseball world as a whole is becoming more important, we are seeing everything, including those aspects.

Born in November 1980 in Zama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated from the University of Law, joined the company in 2003.
