Before the start of 1994 (Heisei 6), the stimulating catchphrase was announced by Nippon Television, which broadcasts the Giants' games hosted. Moreover, the promotional poster features a large “x” mark on a photo of Nagashima Shigeo's retirement match. The person who set up was Tanaka Akira (70), the chief producer of Nippon Television's baseball broadcasting at the time and is now chairman of WOWOW Co., Ltd. Nagashima was eating tempura in a delicious way at a restaurant in Tokyo. Tanaka took out the poster for the sample he had brought with him and began explaining to Nagashima.
“I would like to continue with the catchphrase for this year's broadcast by 'Abandoning the Giants.' Why not put aside the glory of the past and create a new history from scratch?”

Joined the company in 1988. He mainly covers professional baseball, and is responsible for Nippon Ham during his time in Tokyo, Yokohama Taiyo (now DeNA), and Nagashima Giants.
