On the 3rd, the Japan Football Association (JFA) announced 26 Japanese national team members who will be competing in the East Asia E-1 Championship (7th to 16th) to be held in Chiba City from the 7th. All were domestic groups, and the lineup was fresh with 12 people being called up for the first time.
The East Asia E-1 Championship will be an opportunity to appeal to the FIFA World Cup (World Cup) three North and Central America tournament, which will open in June next year. As the main players of the European group become more reliable, it may not be easy to establish the national team, but the tournament, which will be held outside the International A-Match period, will be a survival game for domestic groups with a focus on getting ahead. Since the first tournament in 2003, 65 people have made their international A-match debuts at the tournament, all of which were domestic teams at the time. In the last 2022 tournament, forward Machino Shooto (22, Shonan) achieved three results in three matches since his national team debut, and was called up to the World Cup Qatar tournament that year. FW Soma Yuki (25, Nagoya) also won the MVP for the first time in three years since the 2019 tournament, winning the MVP, leading him to joining the Qatar tournament.
The rise of new players continued to emerge from the 2005 tournament when he was manager Zico, and forward Maki Seiichiro (24, Chiba), who was selected as a surprise at the 2006 World Cup Germany tournament, using his strength in headers, and defenders Konno Yuichi (24, Hiroshima), who participated in the 2010 World Cup South Africa tournament, were also made their first appearance in the East Asia stage in 2005. During the 2013 tournament when he was the winner of the championship, defender Morishige Masato (26, Tokyo), midfielder Yamaguchi Hotaru (22, Cerezo Osaka), and forward Kakitani Yoichiro (23, Cerezo Osaka), were recognized for his performance, and they managed to secure tickets for the 2014 World Cup Brazil tournament a year later. Forward Osako Yuya (23, Kashima), who was active as the ace of the Japanese national team, also made his national team debut in the match against China in 2013, and he gained confidence by scoring two goals, including his first goal in the following match against Australia.
Midfielder Endo Kaoru (22, Shonan), the current mainstay of Moriyasu Japan, showed his high potential in the 2015 tournament, forward Ito Junya (24, Kashiwa) was held in 2017 tournament, midfielder Tanaka Ao (21, Kawasaki F) was held in 2019 tournament, and goalkeeper Suzuki Ayato (2019, Urawa) also showed his high potential in the 2012 tournament.
